This painting started as a crayon sketch made on the Gettysburg Battlefield. I put the basic shapes of the buildings of the Codori Farm high on my paper because I planned to work in an interesting foreground back at the studio. I like to start my art on location and finish it with color back at the studio because it give me freedom of expression and I'm not intimidated by the actual view.
